Fender Jazzmaster black plus case VG+

UPDATED to include manufacturing info –This is the American Vintage series, the serial number starts with a V followed by 6 numbers.  The guitar itself doesn’t say “Made In…” anywhere on it so I did research based on the serial number and a Fender board.Up for bid is a beautiful Fender Jazzmaster, black body with a tortoise shell pickguard. I’ve had this for almost 7 years but have not played it that much. There are a few scratches on the back, from a belt buckle I suppose (I am attempting to clean it), and there are a couple of small nicks but the guitar itself is in overall great condition. I can send more photos if you like. The case is in fantastic condition and everything is still included, including a set of strings and a cleaner. See the photos.  I didn’t want to get rid of this one but times are tough… The original strings are on it and I never did any adjustments to the action or other settings, so the action is very low.  Again, everything this guitar came with is still with it.I put the shipping at $50; the last time I sold guitars here I put it much lower and ended up screwing myself a little, so I’m putting it at %50 but if I can get it to you cheaper I will refund the extra money.If you have any other questions, please ask. I prefer PayPal but any form of payment is OK (domestic, see below for overseas). 1994 Fender Jazzmaster 1966 Model Reissue – Japan

Up for auction is a beautiful 1994 Fender Jazzmaster. Manufactured in Japan. This is a 1966 model reissue. Nice straight neck, rosewood fingerboard with low action. Original Fender 60′s style tuners. All electronics and switches work exactly as they should. Fully shielded pickguard and also the inside of the pickup cavity (see pics). Single coil pickups. All hardware is chrome and is in perfect condition. No cracks, chips or surprises. This Fender has that awesome twang but then can be switched to get a nice fat blues or jazz tone. Surf tone?…just crank up the reverb and go. The tremolo works smooth and flawlessly. It comes with a new set of D’Addario .009 -.042 strings. The body was originally
blue or turquoise. When I removed the neck, you can see traces of the
original color. The previous owner had stripped it to the natural wood
and finished with a lacquer clearcoat. It looks awesome. Comes with tremolo bar. Overall a great sounding and looking Fender. Sorry, no case but comes with a very nice padded gig bag. Vintage 1965 FENDER “Jaguar” – Original – (jazzmaster)

Excellent condition.
All original finish.
Sunburst finish with an original early 1960′s mint green pick guard from a vintage custom color Jaguar.
Original tortoise shell pick guard also included. NO EXTRA HOLES WERE DRILLED to accommodate the mint guard.
Serial # L830XX dates it to 1965.
Butt of neck clearly reads “1 MAY 65 B” for May of 1965 production date.
Guitar has been extremely well taken care of with light use.
Guitar has recently had a professional refret. The nut was also replaced. The original nut is in good condition and will be included.
Additional vintage style string tree added.
I believe the neck to be “C” shaped… it is in excellent condition. Frets are perfect.
Includes original hard shell case in excellent condition.
Hardware is in near perfect condition.
Additional serial number etched under the lip of the tremolo system and is barely noticeable.
All electronics are original and sound huge.
Guitar is 100% functional and plays great.
Whammy/tremolo works flawlessly and the guitar stays in tune well.
Finish looks great with only some scattered rash, bumps, bruises, etc.
All notes sound clear.
Original whammy bar and bridge cover included.

1964 Fender Jazzmaster

This is a 1964 Fender Jazzmaster.  The original paint has been striped off, but everything else is original.  It sounds and plays great!!  The neck is in awesome shape.  All of the wiring and electronics appear to be original.  It has clay fret markers on the fretboard, the interior is lined with metal, probably brass.  The neck date is April of 1964, the serial # is L34861.  It’s got Kluson Deluxe tuners.  The bridge and saddles are in good shape.  It does not have the original case, but I’ve got a hard case I could include so it gets to you safe and sound  This is a great player and is a very cool pre-CBS vintage guitar.On May-01-11 at 16:51:54 PDT, seller added the following information:I’ve been told by someone that looked at pictures that the volume pot may not be original because it doesn’t have the correct markings, but other than that the rest of the electronics, pickups, and wiring appear to be original. … Click for more info

The guitar plays nice with a perfectly straight neck, and all knobs and pick-ups work Great.
The body is in very good condition with a beautiful luster. The only thing ruining its perfect condition is the little few minor scratch marks on the back. I have tried my best to show you the condition of this Beauty in my several pictures.
 
The serial number on the back is Q041073 and most Fender  dating websites I checked said that this guitar was made in JAPAN around 2002-2004.
I am throwing in a nice hard case to protect it during shipping. (As a bonus)

  When Fender introduced the Jazzmaster in 1958, it was designed to replace the Stratocaster as the top model. It featured a new body shape – the “Offset Waist Contour Body”, that meant to provide a better balance and comfort. The Jazzmaster was an attempt to enter the jazz market, too, so it was equipped with newly designed pickups with a mellower sound than the Stratocaster or the Telecaster, rather like a hollow body guitar. Unlike the single coils of the Stratocaster, the single coils of the Jazzmaster are wide and rather flat, covered in a white rectangular housing. So they pick up a wider area of the vibrating strings and thus their sound is less “pointy”.              The Jazzmaster was the first of Fender’s guitars with a rosewood fretboard – which later was offered for the other models, too.

Fuji String Instrument Production Corporation was opened in may 1960, they initially started manufacturing violins and quickly switched to classical guitar production. In 1962 electric guitar construction was started. Fujigen has a reputation for excellent quality and craftsmanship so the guitars they produce are highly regarded. They produce guitars via OEM for famous brands such as Ibanez, Epiphone, Yamaha and Fender (the import Special Interest Group nature model), G&L and others.
Jazzmaster specs:

1958: Alder contour body, three color sunburst finish. Anodised aluminium pickguard with two wide pickups with white plastic covers. Serial number on neck plate. Slab rosewood fingerboard.
Mid 1959: Celluloid tortoise three layer pickguard.
Mid 1962: Veneer Rosewood fingerboard.
Late 1964: Gold Fender “transition” decal thicker than previous “spaghetti” logo (late summer 1964). Pearl fingerboard dots replace “clay” dots. Plastic tortoise three layer pickguard replaces celluloid.
Mid 1965: Volume/Tone knobs change from a Stratocaster style knob to a unique white with chrome top Jazzmaster knob (“Witch Hat Knob”).
Late 1965: White binding on neck.
Mid 1966: Rectangle position markers replace dots. “F” style tuning gears replace “Kluson-Deluxe” gears.
Mid 1967: Peghead shape enlarged.

A truly excellent guitar in regards to workmanship, playability and
tone. It is difficult to believe just how tonally versatile this guitar
