Info:   2005 Fender American Series Stratocaster Hard Tail - 60th Anniversary With Hard Case For
auction is a very clean 2005 Hard Tail American Fender Stratocaster.
Serial Number Z5219974. It is technically a 2006, but was manufactured
in 2005– hence the “Z5″ designation. It is black with white pickguard
with a maple neck. It is a somewhat rare guitar in that it is a “hard
tail” which means it does not have a tremolo. Because it was sold as a
2006, it includes the nifty 60th Anniversary badge on the back of the
neck. Fender stopped making an American Hard Tail in the regular line–
you can get one from the Custom Shop and you can get a Mexican-built
one as a Robert Cray Signature model.Included with the guitar is the original Fender SKB-style hard plastic case as well as the four wrenches and two swing tags. This American Stratocaster is one of the post-2000 configurations. According to The Stratocaster Chronicles
by Tom Wheeler, in the Summer of 2000 Fender discontinued the â??American
Standard� which had been in existence for 13 years and replaced it with
the current â??American Series.â? The American Series was a new start to
the Stratocaster line pulling together a set of features from the
entire history of the Strat to that point making arguably the best
Strat yet. In 2007/2008 Fender re-introduced the “Standard” designation on the American Stratocaster.
These features included the unanimously-agreed-superior pre-CBS
4-bolt neck, the Micro Tilt adjustment, the advanced shielding from the
Standard, the 5-way pickup selector switch that dated back to 1977,

purchased this guitar used in April of 2007 at Music-Go-Round in Cedar
Rapids, IA. At the time, they had a special on set up and I had one of
the guys there adjust the action on it. It appeared that the previous
owner didn’t have the action adjusted from the factory settings. The
neck is very straight and intonation is dead-on. It is a very clean
guitar cosmetically and has lived in a smoke-free house for as long as
I have had it. I have never gigged out with it– all of the playing
