Vintage 1965 Fender Mustang, All Original

Listed here is a Vintage Olympic White, all original, 1965 Fender Mustang guitar. Stamped on Neck 08 NOV 65 B and serial number on neck plate is 148268. As you can see from the pics, guitar is in great shape except for the finish and small hairline crack in the at the butt end of the body.
Pick up covers have faded to a greenish grey color. Overall finish is yellowed with age and crazing is evident, but hey the guitar is almost 46 years old! Frets and neck are in great condition as this guitar was played minimally by owner, inherited by myself and has been in my closet un-played for the past 15 years. Neck is 24” with 22 frets, no buzzes or dead spots. She plays great and is a steal with the bidding starting at just $600.00 with no reserve. Guitar comes with original case in great condition, and a “groovy” 60-70’s strap. This is a short auction so don’t let this one pass you by if you are looking for a ’65 “Stang”. Pics are included so you can see for yourself the condition. All vintage Fender Mustang guitars are only going up in value. I am only selling because I need some cash and the fact that I haven’t played it in 15 years.

Vintage 65 USA Fender 1965 Fender Mustang – no reserve!

Up for auction is an original USA made 1965 Fender Mustang guitar. The original vibrato bar is included. This guitar will ship in a vintage Fender case that I do not believe is the original to this guitar. Pickups, pots, switches, wiring all appears original. Serial number is 105738. Neck date is “8NOV65B” meaning November 8, 1965, with a “B” neck width of 1 5/8″. This is the full 24″ scale version with 22 small vintage frets and a slab rosewood fingerboard with clay dots. Body finish is Dakota red. This is a beautiful vintage Fender guitar that needs a new home. She could use some new strings and a set-up. The 3-way switch for the neck pickup can be finicky, so it likely will need to be cleaned or replaced at some point. Fender Mustang Sonic Blue w/humbuckers

This is a Japanese Sonic Blue Fender Mustang reissue (U039410), most likely from the mid 90s when Fender started reproducing them after their new surge in popularity. I bought this modded guitar from a friend with the humbuckers already installed, I’m not sure of the models but they’re both Seymour Duncan pickups and sound great. There’s an extra tone knob added, and the switches give the two pickups a nice combination of reverse polarity twang and thick crunch. Plays very smooth. I have another Mustang just like it, and this one plays much better than my other one. So why am I selling the better guitar? The other one was my first “real” guitar, so it has priceless sentimental value. The washer piece around the high E string tuner is missing, but is still functional, I would recommend replacing it, as it causes a slight buzz. Has a bunch of battle scars with missing paint chips, but if that bothered you, you would probably be looking to buy a Les Paul anyway. … Click for more info

Its in great condition with only three flaws. 1. A small nick on the back of the neck which is shown in one of the pictures. 2. Crack in finish at neck joint, shown in one of the pictures. 3. No whammy bar.

Fender Mustang Reissue 2005 Japan – White and Tortoise

This Fender Mustang is a well-crafted 2005 Reissue from Japan. It was made in limited quantities and is quite rare. The finish is antique white, and the pickguard is faux tortoise. Both are in excellent condition.  The Mustang has a rosewood fretboard with dot inlays. Its rounded, shortened-scale neck plays very smoothly, making this an ideal instrument for guitarists with smaller hands. Also because of its slightly smaller scale, this guitar provides a sense of direct control over the instrument.The Mustang’s tone come from two stock Fender single-coil pickups. Fender 1965 Mustang *All Original and Stock*

This is a 1965 Fender Mustang! All parts are 100% stock!! I have owned it for the last 15 or so years and really hate to depart with it, but I am thinning out my collection and also could really use the money. The body is alder with a maple neck and rosewood fret board and pearloid dot inlays. The serial number is 103764. Overall, the guitar is great shape and plays nicely. The short neck and 11 gauge string gives the sound a nice punch, especially through a good fuzz box. You can get different sounds by switching the pickups out of phase. As you can tell, it has it’s share of bumps and bruises, but, hey, it’s old. The back of the neck has a nice worn spot where hands have played for decades. However, the frets have plenty of life in them. All electronics and parts work perfectly and are great shape (not rusty or corroded). Fender MUSTANG Dakota Red 65 Reissue Classic Series

Used 65 Reissue Fender Mustang, Dakota Red and in great used condition. This is your chance to own a really unique and classic guitar.
This guitar is a very good playing guitar. Very low action. Not really any damage to report. It has been played, but well looked after and in fine shape. Only very modest signs of being played and no real dings or dents etc.
Instrument appears to be completely orignal and unaltered.
Neck is straight with functioning truss rod. Frets and action are excellent, as is the nut. Electronics are without issue or problem to report. Really good guitar.
Trem bar, although not pictured, is included. No case, but she’ll be packed well and fully insured.

Here is a Fender Mustang in Dakota red that was made in Japan with serial number R086798.  It is a great playing guitar with low action and no buzz.  The pickups and electronics sound great with no static.  The body has some ware on it.  There are two sizable dings on the bottom edge of the guitar.  You can see them in the pictures.  There are also some light markings on the back of the guitar that were hard to photograph.  the rest of the guitar is in great shape.  included will be a Fender gigbag.    Feel free to check out our other auctions and bid with confidence.
