Fender Nocaster Telecaster ’51 1951 Custom Shop Relic reissue both cases COA
Price: 1186.0
For auction here is my Fender Time Machine Custom Shop ’51 Nocaster reissue. This guitar was made in 2007, and I bought it new then. This particular model is in the “relic” finish, which simulates a vintage early ’50′s guitar.
I would grade this guitar as being in exellent shape. It has been played by me at practices and gigs, but has been well cared for. The additional wear besides the ‘relic’ job is all honest play wear. There are no playing or tone issues, nor any problems with this guitar. Just open the case, tune it up (I usually detune a full step when shipping), and off you go.
The guitar comes with both cases (regular issue thermoplastic and the ‘poodle’ case, which I personally like….quite small/exactly the right size), Certificate of Authenticity, black leather 50′s style strap, mist and wipe cleaner/sampler (unopened), bag with ‘instruction book’/polishing cloth/cord/bridge cover-ashtray etc (unopened), and all the hangtags. To the best of my knowledge, all the case candy is present and part of the deal.
This guitar weighs ~6lbs 12 oz; very nice and lightweight. And it sounds great! For chicken pickin’ or for big chords through a Vox amp, this is your standard.
The Nocaster specs have changed a bit over the years as the Fender Custom Shop is always incorporating new changes. Here are the specs for this guitar: swamp ash body, (thin) nitrocellulose laquer finish in Nocaster blonde, black bakelite pickguard, original custom shop Nocaster pickups, original wiring which I have changed to the modern tele wiring scheme, master volume, master tone, three way pickup selector (neck, neck+bridge, bridge), vintage style brass saddles, vintage style Gotoh tuners, maple neck, early ’50′s U shape neck profile, nut width 1.650″, fingerboard radius 7.25″, and vintage frets, Again the original circa ’51 wiring scheme has been updated to the modern telecaster scheme.
I have had a ‘life change’ and am having to sell things. Otherwise, this guitar would not be sold.
The fine print

Vintage Fender 1974 Telecaster Custom
Posted by brian in Telecaster on January 27th, 2012
Vintage Fender 1974 Telecaster Custom
Price: 1277.0
For sale is a 1973/1974 ORIGINAL Vintage Telecaster Custom in sunburst with original Fender hardshell case. The guitar is 100% factory original and all 4 pots date to late 1973 and the wide range humbucker with a 1974 date/stamp. The guitar comes with a fresh set-up by a very well known local luthier at Maple Street Guitars in Atlanta, GA who also did all of the documenting and dating for the instrument. The frets are factory original and I would say they have about 60% – 70% life left in them. The finish is in great shape showing minor wear, scuffing, dings and displays zero weather checking. And with the exception of a small case rub mark about the size of a “stretched” dime(exposing natural wood located right next to the input jack) the finish is fully intact and looks solid considering its age.
The guitar weighs in at a light 7 1/2 pounds and plays WONDERFULLY with a good and straight neck. As far as sound, it has that “Bakersfield” tone from the late 1960’s, very bright and hot bridge pickup without sounding too thin. With Regards to the neck postion, the wide range humbucker just exudes fat, warm tone which works great for jazz and fat blues soloing. The middle position has great bite too with a dash of mellow from the humbucker, definitely my favorite position on the guitar!!! The neck profile is your typical slim ‘C’ shape of this period which is a true joy to play and as an added bonus this one seems to have from what my luthier can tell a Brazilian rosewood fretboard, as Fender was using a mix of Indian and Brazilian rosewood for their fingerboards as late as 1974. This guitar was purchased by me from a previous owner who had it since the early 1980’s.
GOOD LUCK to all bidders!!!
Bidders with 0 or neggative feedback must contact me first before bidding. The guitar will be professionally packed for shipping. The California Series Telecaster model also features vintage hardware such as Kluson-style tuners and a vintage bridge with six individual steel saddles. Medium jumbo frets make string bending and playability by far easier in contrast to the usual thin vintage frets. All Telecaster bodies of this particular series were routed for a humbucker pickup in the neck position. There were two options of the pickup configuration: Either a “Fat Tele” pickup arrangement with a Fender USA humbucker neck pickup and a Tex Mex bridge pickup or a Stratocaster single coil pickup in the neck position combined with a Tex Mex single coil bridge pickup

Fender Telecaster – James Burton Signature Model…Wow!
Posted by brian in Telecaster on September 2nd, 2011
Fender Telecaster – James Burton Signature Model…Wow!
Price: 210.5
Up for auction is a Fender Telecaster James Burton signature model. It was made in April 2003. This telecaster weights 7 lbs and 12 ounces so it a really nice weight. This guitar has never been played significantly. The plastic and James Burton sticker are still on the pickguard. There is only very minor handling wear. It sounds really good…nice and snappy like a good tele should!
I have cleaned the guitar up nicely and just put brand new strings on it so it is ready to be played! This sale includes a brand new Road Runner gig bag. I will include a nice new Planet Waves guitar strap as well with this sale! These guitars are $939 at a discounted price so here is a chance to get a great deal on one with some extra goodies thrown in.
There is one light scratch about six inches long on the back that I can’t photograph and a small finish crack at the corner of the neck pocket and lastly a small ding on the upper edge…truly nothing significant on this guitar…I’ve seen plenty of new guitars at Guitar Center that have more handling wear than this.
Please email me any questions you may have and buy with confidence as I’m a very straight forward guy to deal with.

Relic Time Warp 1969 Fender Thinline Telecaster 69 RI
I have customized many of these Classic Series Fender Strat’s for customers that want a more vintage look and feel, which is why I started the Time Warp Series. They’re designed to be a professional grade axe with all the mojo of a vintage guitar, without the vintage or Custom Shop price. All the modern dates and bar codes are still a part of this guitar, as well as the original serial number being stamped into the heel of the neck. This TW69-T is a factory Fender guitar that CrossTown Customs took great care to age and relic to make it look like an original 1969 Thinline Telecaster, right down to the reproduction Patent numbers on the headstock and a real CBS Fender F neckplate with a 1969 serial number stamped into it. The neck is hard rock maple and has the correct U profile, with a 7.25 radius. The vintage size frets are mint and show NO WARE. The neck is straight and true, without issue. The electronics are the original USA made Fender pickups, full size CTS pots and CRL 3 way. They’re excellent sounding Fender Alnico pickups that did not need to be replaced. The guitar is a great player that nails the look and sound of the late 60s. It’s lightweight, coming in at only 6 pound, 4 ounces. You’ll have that coveted vintage 1969 Tele you always wanted, and can still afford to play it out. And when you do, everyone will swear it’s an original. You could go out and buy a Custom Shop model for 3 times the price, or an original for over 7k, but you’ll be hard pressed to tell the difference. If you want a 60s Tele, but don’t want to pay vintage prices, this is your chance to own Fender’s best at a fraction of what you’d pay for a Custom Shop model. The guitar was created to look vintage and there are no breaks or repairs. It’s as solid as the day it left the factory. It just looks better now. It comes complete with a late 60s, early 70s hard case. I’ve had trouble with 0 feedback bidders of late, so if this is your first time buying, please e-mail me before bidding. Of course, if you can’t pay, please don’t bid. 1968 Fender Telecaster tele
Posted by brian in Telecaster on August 30th, 2011
Price: 1325.0
Here is a great, sought after, 1968 Tele with a maple cap neck !!
I had to “revisit” the ‘ole girl as I haven’t played this Tele in many moons ! I will tell you the down sides first.
The rout in the middle position of the body was done very crudely as seen in the pix. Luckily it is hidden with the guard. Speaking of the guard, it is the original “pearl” back that Fender used in 68-69 era ( like the strats ). Someone, I assume the miss-guided person who did the rout, had started to cut a hole for the humbucker and then stopped. You can see it in the picture. Thank goodness they thought better of it and just used a different pickguard ! They just “lined it out” but didn’t finish it.
It has a medium sized neck that is a great “maple-cap” neck ! It could probably use some fret work and a new nut, but plays well as is. It is dated ” 3 APR 68 B” as you can see in the pictures. The electronics are original except for the three way switch has been changed. Don’t know Why??? The pots are date coded 304-6617 which is the 17th week of 1966. as you know Fender ( CBS Instruments ) bought a BUTT load of pots in 1966 and used them all the way through 1969.
I am not sure, but I think the neck pickup is a 71 model, but it sounds incredible !! It is one of the best sounding Tele pickups I have heard. Very round and rich !
Everything else is original. The bridge saddles are rusty, as they all did, and hard to adjust, but they are positioned very nicely as is. This really is a fine guitar and very cool.
Sorry, but for some reason, I couldn’t upload any more pictures. If you want to see something, let me know and email me your email so I can send the pix.
Winner will pay a flat $75.00 shipping via FedEx to the lower 48 states. All other locales shipping will be higher based on where you are.
