1990 Gibson Explorer
Made in the USA
This Explorer was made in the United States in 1990 and
features a mahogany body with a mahogany neck
with a 24.75″
scale rosewood
fingerboard with 22 frets and white dot inlays. The
guitar has a Black finish. The electronics consist of 2 Gibson
humbucker
pickups controlled by a 3
way switch and a volume
control for each pickup and tone control.
The knobs are black
speed
knobs. The guitar has Grover tuners with “kidney bean”
keys. The bridge is a
Gibson
tune-o-matic with a stop tailpiece. The hardware has a chrome finish.
The guitar has some wear on the
body and belt buckle rash on the rear. There are a couple of
dings on the body edges and playing scratches and wear on the body and
neck. There is some corrosion on the pickup magnet poles and mounting
screws.
There are no breaks, cracks, or old repairs. The neck is straight and
the
truss rod can adjust the relief to your preference. The frets
are in good condition and there is no wear to the rosewood fingerboard.
This guitar has some bumps and bruises so you can gig with it
without worry. A
Gibson hardshell case is included although
the combination lock is broken but the latches work.

This item is near mint condition. We have looked all over and we have found no major flaws at all. There are just s few places where we can see some signs of use, See the photos. They are VERY SMALL and VERY hard to find, so we are being a bit over crytical, but you expect us to be this way.
Over all I would give this a 9.75 out of 10…..Its that good.
Remeber this is a NO RESERVE AUCTION, so bid bid bid.
Since we sell for other people there are a few things you need to know. We ask all the sellers to clean there items before the get here, but MANY sellers will not do this. Sorry everyone that was watching this auction before I ended it. I had thought I had sold another guitar and was keeping this but things changed! This will run the distance this time.
This is one of my all time favorite guitars “The Gibson Les Paul Historic, Custom Shop, 1957 Reissue Goldtop with the Dark Back.” Aged and in 1999 they came with the Gibson 57 reissue PAF humbuckers, which I personally like better that the Burstbuckers and Long Neck Tenon.

This is an outstanding guitar that numbers among the best les pauls that I have played .It has very little play time and looks virtually new. There are no issues with this guitar. Please check my feedback. I take care of the guitars that I own. The guitar weighs 8lbs on my digital scale (guitar and case weigh in at 16.8 lbs) Ships in the original Gibson carton.
