The Flying V Melody Maker is one the Limited Run Series as Gibson USA re-introduces the Melody Maker as the budget-friendly entree to Gibson solidbody electrics.The Melody Maker was introduced by Gibson 1959 as their budget solidbody model. It had a single-cutaway Les Paul Junior shape with a thinner body and distinctive, narrower Melody Maker headstock. The one single-coil pickup was controlled by one volume knob—sound familiar? Greco FV600 Vintage Flying V Made in Japan MIJ PROJECT

Here’s a vintage Greco Flying V, made in Japan in the late 70′s or early 80′s.  The white has darkened to a great cream color, and it’s a really cool guitar…except for the neck crack.  As you can see, it’s not a complete crack, instead it’s the beginning of one, but you’ll need to set it.  Once you do, it’ll be stronger than if it had never happened, and the repair should be pretty seamless, as there’s no wood missing.  The truss cover does read “Greco,” it’s just faded.  The only other issue is the bridge, which is missing one saddle.  You can either replace it, or throw in any Gibson replacement.  Fretboard is nice and dark, and this thing is absolutely dripping with character.  All parts are original (tuners were replaced at one point, then switched back, and holes were filled).  This is a really cool guitar, and perfect for someone that has a little time for a minor repair.  The original leather case is included.  Thanks for looking!  Good luck!PAYMENT MUST BE RECEIVED VIA PAYPAL WITHIN 24 HOURS OF THE END OF THE AUCTION.  I ask for fast payment because I have a very busy work schedule, and I want to make sure payment is in my account when I have the first opportunity to ship.  Therefore, if you do not already have a Paypal account with a confirmed address, and you are not prepared to pay right away, please do not bid!  In spite of my schedule, I make every effort to ship very quickly, and all of my guitars are packaged extremely well (please refer to feedback).  Shipments generally go out within 2 days.  International shipments are mailed every Saturday.  OK, here’s the deal with shipping: I’m happy to ship internationally. Gibson ‘67 Reissue Flying V Heritage Cherry Red PAF NR!

From Lonnie Mack to Jimi and for a whole new generation of
rockers the Flying V is epitome of cool and here’s a good one! This Iconic
Gibson Flying V is finished in a vibrant glossy Cherry finish and features
upgraded Gibson PAF pickups that really bring out its voice.

The
Mahogany/Rosewood topped neck feels great, somewhere between the  ‘slim taper’ style (though not quite as
‘slim’) and the huge ‘50s. Just enough meat and roundness to really grab onto!
Action is low and fast. Original frets have some wear but have plenty left. The
tone though my old Super Reverb is Humbucker heaven!

And
speaking of humbuckers… When I got this one it had a set of EMGs replacing the
original factory 496R and 500T ceramic magnet pickups and it sounded pretty
cool. Further down the road I was at a guitar show and picked up a set of older
Nickel covered ’57 PAT PEND reissues (I guess that’s what they call them) and
just to see I tired them in the V. I have to admit they really have that kinda
old style tone, beefy and plenty o’ drive yet with a nice bit of top end
clarity. A nice combo for sure so I left them in.

Light
honest player wear, NO breaks/repairs to the neck or anywhere else.

There
is a small area underneath the pickguard that was enlarged for the 9 volt to
power the EMGs (see photo).

Chrome
hardware is in very nice condition.

Action
is currently 2/16th inches at the 12th fret and is easily adjusted to the new
owner’s preferences.

Plays
good up and down the neck without any buzz.

Neck
looks straight to my eyes.

Width
at the nut is 1 11/16th inches.

Hardshell
TKL made in Canada, Epiphone logo’d case included.

1981 Gibson Flying V w/ OHSC

1981- Gibson Flying V w/ OHSC This Guitar was a Second which is Stamped on the Back of the Headstock which really makes no Difference since it’s Been Altered to accomodate a  Trem Unit. I saw this Guitar on E-Bay 3- Years Ago and Purchased it. It had already had the Floyd Taken out and been repaced with a Block of Maple it Looked Like to me it had also had the Bridge Mounts put back in. The Stop Tail had Not been Removed so that part is still Original. I have Bought Many Guitars on E-Bay Refinished Refurbished and Resold them on E-bay and locally. I Took this Guitar apart and Lightly Sanded it and started to HIde the Alterations w. Stains and Thinned Paint Tecniques on Both Sides Which is Pretty Well Hiden You Can still See the Alterations up Close but from a Few Feet  on the Front you Really can’t Tell. Picture 5- 2- Holes Between Existing Bridge and Bridge Pick Up the Other Cutis Directly Behind the Bridge. the Back is More Noticable, Pictures 6-7 the Darker Area is where the alteration was,  Picture 7 -ia a Close up of that area  I did a Faux Wood Grain in the entire back of the Body. Also the Neck had a Partially worn down to the Wood area from Playing and the Locking Nut Holes was also finished. The Previous Owner had the Front of the Headstock thined a Little to Accomodate the Locking Nut You can see where the Holes were and Difference between the Black Paints. the Control Cavety is Lined w./Copper Sheet and the Pick ups are not Original Seymor Duncans  I Really Didn’t Finish this Guitar to where I wanted it. It Played Great and Sounded Great Also The Neck is Fast and The Sound is Thick. I was wanting to Play this one Bad, so I put it back together Before I was Finished to see how it felt and sounded, I just never Got around to Breaking it Back Down to Finish. Heres where you come in… What it Need s is to be Broken Down Lightly Sanded a Few Coats of Laquer Front, Back, and Neck  a Finish Sanding, Compound, and Polishing.
