Rare 1986 Gibson Flying V PEWTER FINISH factory kahler

This 1986 Gibson Flying V is a  very scarce instrument! This V has  the ” Pewter” finish  and with the factory upgrade to a kahler vibrato, is  rare. (I  think it should be called “charcoal mist metallic.” ) ….I have searched the net looking for another pewter one and I have found Zero pictures of them…. In the sunlight , the finish is just fantastic looking; I imagine this would be a GREAT looking stage guitar!  In any case , it has what would seem to be the original case , in pretty decent shape. One of the latches is broken; the other ones do an admirable job of keeping the case tighly closed. Two original Gibson ” dirty fingers” pickups. If you are into metal or punk , you probably know they scream like hell..To the best of my knowledge, they are  the hottest pickup that gibson has made…very nice ebony fretboard; killer neck profile. Close to the current 1960 style, but maybe a tad bit wider. Only one worn spot on the back of the neck. The neck appears to be mahogany. The frets are wide, but not tall. The action is very low. …One of the black grover tuners has been replaced with a chrome schaller. No new screw holes, so it could easily be corrected. I do not have the vibrato arm, but the bridge appears to be in good condition.  A spot of buckle rash on the back about the size of a quarter. There are numerous very small dings that one would usually  find with a guitar that has been gigged. There is an extra hole from an extra strap peg…One of the plastic humbucking rings is cracked in the adjustment screw hole…. We see these guitars most often in white or black , but this one is very different and a real looker. ….It may need some setup work , and a good polishing, but its very very cool…. dont let the interior pictures fool you, this is not at all a black guitar . click on the pictures to enlarge them …

1981 Gibson Flying V Alpine White

Offering a very sweet looking 1981 Gibson Flying V. I bought this guitar used over 20 years ago exactly as you see it now. I have not been able to confirm but I strongly believe it to have been refinished before I purchased it. The color is a perfectly aged creamy, but not too yellow, Alpine White which is a color Gibson is well known for using and looks superb on V’s. But the way the paint lies over the binding on the fretboard really makes me wonder. I could be wrong but I don’t think so, maybe it is obvious to you one way or another.   The guitar is a “fretless wonder” version which refers to frets that are essentially flat with only the most minimal crown. They are not worn down, this is the way they were made. They are cool because almost slighest touch is all that is needed to fret a note and the action is super low. Missing the bridge pickup cover as you can see, an easy enough fix and the body shows lightly scattered bumps and scrapes. The guitar is super light and has definitely been used but I wouldn’t call it abused.  Comes with original Gibson case as pictured.  If you are taking a chance that the paint is original or if you are looking for a mint example this is probably not the guitar for you. However, if you want a player with super cool looks from a year that is becoming more and more desirable I think you will find it to be a wonderful addition to your arsenal. Serial #: 034050660. 6.4 lbs. That’s right- just 6.4 lbs. The lightweight mahogany here makes this guitar absolutely sing! The Flying V was released in ’58. A bit ahead of its time, it was discontinued in ’59. In the mid 60′s, the guitar started to gain notoriety. And, with players like Lonnie Mack, Albert King, Hendrix, Bolan, EVH…etc, weilding this futuristic axe, it quickly became a staple of rock n roll. The mahogany body & neck combines with the dual humbuckers puts out some serious crunch and sustain. The 500T in the bridge gives you tight bottom end and some sweet high end mids for that classic Gibson tone. Perfect for crunchy rhythms and fast fretwork. The 496 in the neck gives you that infamous semmingly endless sustain. Everything is taken up a notch by that great resonance- adds great body to everything you play. The nek here is very thin and flat for a Gibson- this is extremely easy to get around on. Aesthetically, this is a classy guitar. Natural finish, white ‘guard, and gold hardware/polepieces- perfect. Excellent condition- a couple of very small compressions- nothing that would show in pics. The frets are clean- just professionally setup with action of just 3/32" at the 12th fret low E. 2007 Gibson Flying V Faded – Adult owned – Great Shape

You are bidding on my like-new Emperion Norax 7 string guitar with EMG 81-7 (b), 707(n) pickups. I have owned this guitar for over a year and have done a ton of upgrades to make it play like a dream. Here are the features:- Professional fret level, setup for buzz-free low-action playing- 25.5″ Scale, Set-neck, strings-through-body with black ferrules- Ebony fingerboard (regularly lemon-oiled), mahogany body/neck- Upgraded to Schaller straplocks (I will include the strap buttons with the sale)- Upgraded to Schaller mini-locking tuners – tuning is rock-solid!- Upgraded pickup selector switch to Carvin 3-way toggleI am selling this guitar because my original intent was to use it in ultra-low tuning (low F string). Unfortunately, the 25.5″ scale is not ideal for this and the required string gauge got ridiculously high, so I am going to a baritone scale guitar (27″). I have considered keeping this one for B or A tuning because it plays so well, but need the cash.The only negatives on this guitar are cosmetic in nature, and are not visible in a stage setting in my opinion.The black paint on the bevels does not extend all the way to the neck (see last picture), but stops about 1 inch short. Also, the pickup routes were originally for passive pickups and so the ‘wings’ of the pickup mounting holes are visible with the EMGs. *Right now, the upper volume pot it disabled and the lower pot controls volume for both pickups. If you would like this changed, just let me know upon purchasing and I will make volume pots independent for you!   Take advantage of my very low listing price! The guitar is in pretty good condition. I only played it for 8 months. I’m selling it because I have been looking at other guitars, There is nothing wrong with this guitar. The emg 81-85 pickups give it a very warm distortion tone.The guitar is very easy to play, it’s good for beginners or even more experienced players.
