This item is near mint condition. We have looked all over and we have found no major flaws at all. There are just s few places where we can see some signs of use, See the photos. They are VERY SMALL and VERY hard to find, so we are being a bit over crytical, but you expect us to be this way.
Over all I would give this a 9.75 out of 10…..Its that good.

This is one of my all time favorite guitars “The Gibson Les Paul Historic, Custom Shop, 1957 Reissue Goldtop with the Dark Back.” Aged and in 1999 they came with the Gibson 57 reissue PAF humbuckers, which I personally like better that the Burstbuckers and Long Neck Tenon.

In 1997 Gibson introduced the Gibson Ace Frehley Les Paul Signature with Ace’s personal design and touches . The guitar featured 3 DiMarzio pickups, a fat ‘59 style neck, maple top, mahogany body/neck, lightning bolt inlays on the fingerboard, Ace Frehley signature at the 12th fret, bound body, neck and headstock with an Ace Frehley graphic logo on peghead and “Ace” truss rod cover, tune-o-matic bridges with stop bars and were made in heritage cherry sunburst finishes. Very limited quantities were produced, and were discontinued in 2001.
This Ace Frehley Les Paul is in excellent condition and from the first year run. It features a clean and vibrant Heritage Cherry Sunburst Finish on a nicely figured maple top, mahogany body and neck. The three blazing hot DiMarzio pickups read 13.36 for both the bridge and middle and 12.83 for the neck. The guitar plays great with fast action and has tone for days. The top is clean with minimal play wear, the back shows a bit of buckle rash, a testament to the playability of this spectacular guitar. Kiss will have broken up (again!) and gotten back together (again!) by the time this auction ends, so don’t miss this opportunity to get a significant piece of rock music history before their next reunion tour!!!

It is made in the USA, in Nashvill on February 21, 1986 and was the first one made that day.
As can be seen in the pictures the former owner was not the gentliest player on the planet.Scratches and dents.

BUT: everything works, there are no cracks, sounds great.

HISTORY

The original Les Paul was
produced in 1952, but the custom was not introduced until 1954. The idea behind
the Gibson Les Paul Custom was to create a more luxurious appearance for the
audience (and the player, of course), and a better playing experience for the
guitarist. Success. Les Paul wanted a classier looking guitar that the gold, so
he suggested black as it made the guitar look like it were wearing a tuxedo.
Many nicknames were given to the guitar like â??Black Beautyâ? and â??Fretless
Wonder.� It featured a Gibson P-90 pickup in the bridge position, and a newly
designed Seth Lover alnico V pickup in the neck. Seth Lover, as you may know,
was the creator of the humbucker pickup. The split diamond headstock inlay
signified the guitars importance and high quality. Obviously, that same
importance and high quality is still loved today for every style of music
imaginable.

for a 1972 (real not a reissue) Gibson
Custom Black Beauty Fretless Wonder Guitar. A few small dings and a
little finish checking is all.   Mahogany body (pancake â?? Look at pics and you can see
it) and neck, bound rosewood fretboard, trapezoid inlays, 22 frets, 2 PAF
humbucking pickups with Gibson logo on covers, stop tailpiece, ABR-1
tune-o-matic bridge, Kluson tuners with double ring keystone buttons, very
nice, 1-11/16″ nut, 24-3/4″ scale, with OHSC.  This has the original Patent Number
sticker pickups with the Gibson logo on the pickup covers! Must see it to
believe it - 9 lb 11 oz of super tone. 
Smallest thinnest neck I ever saw on a Les Paul.  Super low action with no buzzing.    Monster sound that is very
bell like and rich. Pancake body with mahogany neck really plays well.  Kalamazoo quality all the way on this
one.  Fantastic fit on the inlays
and binding.  Very special sustain
properties that is very hard to find. The thin neck is also very rare on a Les
Paul Custom.

Info:  Very nice condition 1976 Gibson Les Paul Custom in faded cherry sunburst. Has rock maple neck! very rare. makes a solid playing instrument,stays in tune better than any mahogany neck. Ebony fingerboard with  real mother of pearl block inlays. Minor fret ware evenly distributed.Cherry sunburst top back sides and neck.  serial number 06210976 in gold decal on headstock back. Additional decals say ” Mike Bunch Room”My guess is that was the original retailer.  It has the original Gibson ” Chain Saw” nylon plastic travel case with red plush interrior. The neck is straight with just  the right amount of   bow on the  bass side like you want. To keep the frets from rattling. Pickups show some tarnish wear and so does the stop tailpiece. Pots work fine as do pickups. For a 33 year old guitar this baby is in great shape for its age i give it a 8.6. There is some belt worming on the back and a sweated and filled with nitro gouge on the back (pictured.) One small dent in the back of neck was swelled and filled also so there is now no unevenness to be felt in the back of the neck. This area was about as big as a small clip off the side of a fingernail… swelled with steam and nitroed also. Sounds great. plays wonderfulmedium to thin neck profile and very aged binding especially on headstock. Has a small volute on back of headstock as was commonplacefor mid seventies instruments.
