Condition: Good condition. This is a one owner guitar and it was taken care of. There is some light scratching on the surface from normal play use over the years. The worst of the scratching is on the back of the body but even that is light and you can only see it when you turn the guitar at the right angle. Aside from that scratching, it’s in good shape and ready to rock. All the electronics work perfectly.

Today Billybling would like to offer up for sale my 2006 Gibson 1959 Reissue Historic Custom Shop Electric Guitar!!!!! This guitar has been played very sparingly over the past 3 years. I purchased the guitar new the year my son was born. I bought it so I could give it to my son at some point in his Teens (as long as he earned it). There is no buckle rash, it is LIGHT and it sounds killer. I have PAF’s in my 68 CA and this guitar sounds just as good plugged into my Marshall 2553 Silver Jubilee Stack. I went through 31 Historic’s over the past 6 years and this one – IS THE ONE. Look at the Color? Remind you of anyone? It reminds me of Duane Allman’s guitar. The neck poickup is so warm and fat – AND CLEAR AS A BELL. The treble pickup nails Appetite for Destruction like tones all day. This Historic is as good as they get and the Madagascar Rosewood fingerboard looks just like Brazilian. I know first hand. I sold 8 3033 a few years ago as well as 0 3139 – both Brazilian Certified and Confirmed Fretboards so……I don’t wanna be one of those know it all type of guys because I’m not, but I have owned 2 Braz Boards. Gibson Historic Series 1954 Les Paul Goldtop

P-90 Equiped Gold Beauty in IMMACULATE Condition!

     Up for auction is this awesome Gibson Historic Series 1954 Les Paul Goldtop.  This special quality build offers all of the great tone, sustain and mojo of the original ’54 classisc at a fraction of the cost.  Purchased new by me in 2000, this guitar has been very lightly played in my home and is in immaculate condition.     

     Let’s start with the finish.  The flawless gold top oozes classic Gibson character.  This is complemented by the gorgeous mahogany back, sides and neck.  This is THE guitar that everyone immediately recognizes.     

     The binding and pickup control switch have been beautifully aged to give this his great guitar a stunning vintage look.  Weighing in at 9 lbs 4 oz, this is a rock solid instrument that feels like it really means business when you strap it on.      

     In my opinion there is nothing quite as stylish as the classic Gibson open-book headstock with the script signature of Les Paul.  There is no substitute for the real thing.

     The bound mahogany neck is graced with a rosewood fretboard and mother of pearl trapezoid inlays.  It has a very comfortable, rounded C contour.  This baby is kept in tune with premium quality Gibson Deluxe tuning machines.     

     OK, great looking guitar with tons of character, but how does it play and sound?  The ’54 is equipped with P-90 single coil pickups rather than the more familiar humbuckers.  This is the classic Gibson single coil that is known for its big mid range when used clean and its thick creamy grind when pushing an amp hard.  In 1954 the Les Paul was equipped with a wrap around tailpiece rather than the more familiar tune-o-matic style which became available in 1956.  The wrap around has the advantage of a very solid bridge which directly connects with the guitar body.  In my opinion this allows for better sustain characteristics than a tun-o-matic.  While the wrap around does not allow the degree of precise intonation adjustment of a tune-o-matic, intonation has not been an issue with this guitar at all.  Overall this is a HUGE tone monster that really delivers that classic Les Paul P-90 sound.

     As with all Les Pauls, this special Goldtop is equipped with four speed roller knobs that control volume and tone for each pickup.

     Of course, a stunning guitar like this has to be well protected.  And it is with this beautiful hardshell case with the old style plush pink lining and silky apron.

Info:  This auction is for a 1981 Les Paul Custom. It is all original except for the pickups, pickup mounting rings, and the hard shell case. This guitar has a Gibson ’57 classic in the neck and a ’57 classic plus in the bridge. The guitar definitely has some playing wear on it. There are some knicks and scratches, some belt buckle rash on the back, the nitrocellulose finish is starting to wear off the back of the neck, much of the gold plating on the hardware has worn off of course, and some of the finish has chipped away on the tip of the headstock (see photo). All of this is cosmetic, the guitar is solid as a rock. It looks good, plays good and sounds good. The frets are dressed low, I think Gibson was going for a “fretless wonder” feel on these like the older Les Paul Customs. (I have a 1980 Custom that is set up in the exact same way.) The action is very low and very playable, there are no buzzing frets.The case has a good deal of wear on it. The lock was broken off, I have the latch so if a person could figure out a way to rivet it back onto the case it would be functional again. And the seam on the top has started to split, you can see there was a spot on the case that was being held together with duct tape. I pulled the tape off because the case is in no danger of falling apart. It could be glued back down and it would be just fine. Info:   The cream of the crop, also known as the fretless wonder. A mint condition 57 Gibson Les Paul Custom Shop Reissue finished in stunning tuxedo black nitro lacquer. A very rare and hard to find black beauty with all gold and a factory gold bigsby. This 1996 Les Paul was a great year for Gibsons custom shop. It is a beautifully crafted instrument from Gibsons finest luthers. Plays and sounds like a dream with nice comfortable action and an awesome functioning bigsby. Electronics work perfectly with the set of 57 classic PAF’s, 2 volumes and 2 tone knobs. No noise or static at all. The neck has the fatter 57 profile, straight with very little fret wear. These are the Cadillac of Les Paul Customs. They are 5k new, if you can find the 2 pick up bigsby configuration. No cracks, no breaks, no issues. This is all original, the black finish is absolutely like a mirror. The gold hardware is beautiful and perfect with no blemishes or any issues of any kind. The black beauty in 1996 came with factory Grover machine heads. It is also set off by the aged binding around the body, neck, and head stock. This is one of the best playing  and awesome looking black beauty’s i have seen. Its very likely you will not find another one as awesome as this one. Up for auction is a lightly used 2007 Les Paul Custom in Heritage Cherry Sunburst finish.  Overall, the guitar is in excellent condition. This beautiful guitar is constructed of solid mahogany, with a gorgeous quilted maple top. The neck is mahogany with an ebony fret board and plays like a dream. It has a 490R humbucker in the neck and a 498T humbucker in the bridge. I have owned this guitar for about a year and a half. It plays very well and sounds incredible. It has never been gigged, but has been played, and has the usual signs of light playing wear.  It does have a small ding on the back of the body that was too small to be captured in a photo, and does not penetrate the finish.  There is a light scratch on the headstock (it is circled in yellow), probably resulting from a string change â?? again, hardly noticeable unless you really look for it.

I have never played out with this guitar it has been in my studio and has spent most of it life in its case . So it is in like new condition it has a maple neck with block inlays and gold hardware it comes with all case candys that came with the guitar and I will throw in A black Ernie Ball strap with black strap locks and A new set of Elixir Nanoweb strings (11) its not shown in pics but it has A black pickguard also.
