2006 Gibson Les Paul Standard – MINT Cherry Burst
Posted by brian in Les Paul Standard on January 25th, 2010
is
in absolute MINT condition, with no dings, dents, marks or buckle rash of any type. It looks
just as good as the day it was made. The auction includes the original hard shell case shown with it in the pictures. It has a fantastic AAA flame maple top on it. In fact, it has a really unique “double” flame pattern – the wood grains and flames run both horizontally and vertically. Fantastic! The guitar is
completely stock and original with Gibson Burstbucker Pro pickups and a 60′s style fast neck. It sounds
great and plays even better, it has just had a professionally set up for
action and intonation. It has
low action and plays incredibly well. I want to stress that this absolutely the best playing Les Paul I have ever played, I can’t say that enough. This gorgeous guitar looks good
enough to hang on the wall of a museum, but is just begging to be an
everyday player. The winner will NOT be disappointed!! Shipping
will be to the continental United States only. All sales are final. Please contact me with
any questions, I will be glad to answer them. Thanks for looking and
good luck bidding. On Jan-23-10 at 13:11:49 PST, seller added the following information:I have just found out that this is actually a Standard Plus (+) model. So its even a little more prestigious! Thanks. On Jan-24-10 at 20:27:28 PST, seller added the following information:One more note, I’ve just noticed a small mark on the fretboard between the nut and the first fret. It is a very small indentation in the rosewood about the size of a ball point pen tip. Its very slight, not major at all, but I definitely want to mention it to any potential bidders/buyers. I can’t add any pictures to my auction page or I would post a picture. It doesn’t show up very well in photos anyway. If you would like to see a close up picture, just ask and I will email pictures to you. Please include your email address in any inquiries. Thanks and good luck. … Click For More Info
Gibson Custom Shop ES 359 Semi Hollow Guitar MINT!!
Posted by brian in Les Paul Standard on January 25th, 2010
Thereâ??s no truer sign of the Gibson Custom Shopâ??s dedication to improvement and innovation than the ES-359, which was unveiled in 2008. At its heart, the ES-359 is a luxuriously appointed version of the ES-339 â?? a flexible tone machine with edge and bite at any volume. What sets the ES-359 apart is its gold hardware, Grover tuning pegs, and an ebony fingerboard with large mother-of-pearl block inlays to accentuate the classic elements of this innovative guitarâ??s appearance.
Both the ES-359 and ES-339 trace their roots to the introduction of the ES-335 and ES-355, the worldâ??s first semi-hollowbody guitars, in 1958. They are part of Gibsonâ??s continuing quest to optimally wed the dark, rich tone of hollowbody guitars with the edgy command of solidbodies â?? with the added benefit of a solidbodyâ??s dimensions. The ES-359 employs a maple/poplar/maple laminate and boasts another small design improvement over classic ES-335 and ES-355 models â?? the input jack is mounted on the rim rather than on the body of the guitar.
Body
Like all ES models, the ES-359 has a body with two rounded wing chambers and f-holes, but with solidbody-like dimensions: 13-inches wide, 16-inches long, and 1 11/16th-inch deep. Finishes available are lacquered ebony or vintage sunburst. The neck is one-piece mahogany for classic Gibson resonance and sustain. There are 22 frets on the modelâ??s ebony fingerboard, which has large mother-of-pearl block inlays and a single-ply cream binding.
Unlike the ES-339, which has fat and thin neck options, the ES-359 comes with a â??30/60â? neck that has the slim, wide feel of an early â??60s Gibson, with an extra .030 inches of depth. The scale length is 24-inches and a 1 11/16-inch width at the nut. The headstock has high-quality Grover tuners and there is single-ply binding on top and back.
Hardware
The other major Gibson innovation in the ES-359 figured top model is the patented Memphis Tone Circuit. Using a logarithmic system to analyze the way a guitarâ??s volume controls affect tone, the Custom Shopâ??s engineers developed special 500-k frequency audio taper pots to preserve high end as the volume decreases, giving the ES-359 a consistently sweeter, brighter, punchier tone than other guitars of its ilk as it gets quieter.

Posted by brian in Les Paul Standard on January 24th, 2010
I am selling it for a friend who bought it used in 1972. It was in excellent condition when he bought it.
My research of the serial number shows that it was manufacturered in 1966.BUT we received an email from an ebayer that states it is from 1969/ please read the question/answer section on the bottom……..the 1st. one we received / it is the bottom/last one………
He had Grover tuning knobs put on to replace the original tuners. He also had the front strap knob replaced with a schaller strap lock nickel, the original strap knob and screw are in the case. All work was done by a professional.
Everything else is original.
The plastic knob on the rhythm / treble is broken off…………it is in the case in 2 pieces. One of the volume controll knobs is missing the cap that says “volume” .it is also in the case, the knob that is missing the cap is also cracked………I have put the limit of photo’s on so if you need to see a photo of this please email me.
He took excellent care of this instrurment. As you can see by the photo’s there is 1 crack on the top. It has wear from normal use……..also the finish has some crazing from age…………
The guitar weighs 10 pounds and the case weighs 8…………The case is the case it came in when he purchased it in 1972.
Sounds GREAT, plays like a DREAM..
We will pack carefully and ship in the case………….
If you have any questions or need additional photo’s please email us………….thanks..
On Jan-21-10 at 09:23:10 PST, seller added the following information:hi -just a friendly FYI. they did not make Les Pauls in this body style for the years 61-67. they reintroduced them in 68. this one is a Deluxe model that was not introduced until late 69. if it was early 69 or older it would have a 1 piece neck, but it has a 3 piece neck. if it was really late 69 or newer (up until about 81), it would have a volute on the neck. but the mahogany neck makes it a pre-76 guitar. the lack of volute makes it pre-70. so it has to be a mid to late 69 model. the serial numbers posted on Gibson’s web site are only a guide. it is not an exhaustive perfect list; but it is usually correct. in your case, it is not correct since they did not make Les Pauls in 66/67. my guess is that the pots date to 1969 on your guitar. the codes on the pots are like this 137YYWW. the YY is the year the pots were made and the WW is the week they were made (if original). so if yours are 1376910, … Click For More Info

2006 Gibson Les Paul 59 reissue AAAAA Quilt Top!!
This is one of the most beautiful guitars that you will ever see. It is a 2006 Gibson Les Paul 1959 Reissue VOS. It is serial number 9-6320. This guitar has an amazing, highly quilted Maple top that is finished in a beautiful Lemonburst. The guitar is in excellent condition and appears to have hardly been played. It comes with its Certificate of Authenticity as well as all of the other original documentation that came with it when new. It is nice and light weighing in at just slightly over 8 lbs. The fingerboard on this one is nicely figured and looks like Brazilian, however, I am certainly not saying for sure that is is because I have not made an effort to confirm. All I can say for sure it that this is a very special guitar, and that the person lucky enough to be the high bidder should be very proud of themselves. It comes in its original Gibson hardshell case.
Like most all of our auctions, we are taking our chances and offering this great guitar with a ridiculously low start price and NO RESERVE. Who knows what the final price will be, but one thing is for sure–The high bidder will definitely win the auction!!ATTENTION:
