Info:  Up for auction is this mid 1980′s Jazz Bass Special made in Japan.  They say these Japan basses were of better quality than their American counter part.  Not sure how true that is but its definately a good bass.  This bass has a really good tone.  Recieved lots of compliments (of course GK amp has something to do with it too).  From the pictures, you can see some of its blemishes.  The back of the neck has dings, the neck plate has the typical wear on these models, the 1/4 jack was replaced (the jack plate replaced was a square plate typically found on Les Pauls and it was cracked), the body has dings, the frets have some fret wear, etc…  The P-Style pickups are Seymour Duncan SPB-3 and the J-Pickup is a stock pickup found in Jazz Bass Aerodyne models.  The electronics were installed to match the Duff McKagan Signature Fender ( two 500k pots and 250k TBX pot with .22 capacitor)  The pickups have a buzz like single coil pickups, probably  resolved through better ground.  Great playing bass with a straight neck that can punch through the mix.  (I feel like I did this bass a disservice by mentioning all its defects but want to make sure I disclose that bass isn’t perfect)
The bass will be shipped in same package Fender ships guitars in.  Guitar will be packaged well.  I’m selling this bass because I’ve started playing 5 string bass and probably won’t switch back to 4 strings.
