For sale is a Fender American Series VG Stratocaster guitar, including the manual, wipe down cloth, wrenches, the ‘whammy’ bar, a Fender instrument cable, molded hard-shell case and key, and a Fender strap. This one-owner guitar, purchased new in 2007, functions perfectly; and, the guitar and the case are in exceptional cosmetic condition, with only some very minor scratches on the plastic cavity covers on the guitarâ??s back. Darn belt buckles, anyway. The action is smooth and easy. The frets are â??medium jumboâ??â?¦great for bending notes during those â??bluesâ?? leads; and, the fret wear is minimal, if any. This would make a great Christmas present for somebody.
This Strat was made in America (Corona, CA) and has a very nice 3-color sunburst finish. This Strat has 3 single-coil pickups and the Roland VG pickup, inconspicuously placed close to the bridge. In addition to a typical Stratâ??s controls (the 5-position blade switch, Master Volume and Tone controls), this Strat also has two additional rotary knobs: a Tuning Knob and a Mode Knob.
The Tuning Knob allows you to select among five different tunings (normal regular tuning, Drop D, Open G (great for slide), DADGAD, Baritone/Low B, and 12 string). And, if you like to tune your guitar down a half-step to Eb, the tunings will compensate. No big deal.
The Mode Knob allows you to select among a normal Strat tone, as well as a virtual version of the ash bodied Strat, a virtual Telecaster, a virtual 2-humbucker Strat (this mode rocks), and an assortment of 5 acoustics (very cool). When in Acoustic Mode, the 5-way blade switch lets you chose among the five acoustic modes, from Dreadnought to Resonator. When in any of the other modes, the blade switch functions as it normally would â?? selecting between different combinations of the three pickups. All in all, you can squeeze 37 different sounds (plus the alternate tunings) out of this guitar; and, all these sounds and tones can achieved â??on the flyâ?? just by turning a knob or two. You can play an acoustic, 12-string rhythm one minute, and then burn out some hot lead riffs using the humbucking mode, the next. Or, you can quickly switch to the Open G tuning for a little slide action. A very, very versatile guitar.
