Vintage 1976 USA Fender Stratocaster

Vintage 1976 USA Fender Stratocaster

Info:  This Fender rolled off the line at Fullerton CA in 1976 (SN# 717757). Subsequently an early owner turned it into an SG type by removing the bridge and one pickup, which were replaced with a Gibson SG bridge and a humbucker. This entailed drilling holes for the bridge and routing out the pickup hole to fit the humbucker. I tried to return this guitar to a strat after I purchased it (early 90’s), so the holes were filled in, a new bridge assembly and one pickup were installed. The body was refinished in the Cadillac Gold Fender used in it’s early days. The finish is rather rough and it should be redone by a pro. What you are getting is an original maple neck with some wear to the fret board and along the bottom edge of the neck, but the neck is straight and plays well. The tuners are Schaller (Made in W Germany) and I believe that they are original. The pots and switch are original, as is the plug jack. The pick guard and pickup covers are repos, the knobs are not original but are old, they came with the guitar when I bought it and I thought they still looked good. One of the pickups has been replaced. The case is an custom built metal banded ugly that would survive a fall from a plane. Buy this guitar for parts, for restoration or just for fun. … Click For More Info
