1980 Gibson Byrdland
The Serial Number
is 80160027 and it dates to early 1980. I was not able to check the Pots,
but the Pickups have date stamps of "May 15, 1979" and "September
20, 1979" on the bottoms. It weighs 6 Pounds 13 Ounces. The Nut is 1.625″ (40 mm) Across.
The guitar was played
quite a bit and has some moderate wear. There are light scratches, scuffs
and small dings – the usual cosmetic wear. No cracks, repairs, extra holes
or other major issues. The Neck is straight and the Frets show average
wear, but it plays without any sound issues. There is heavy wear on the
pickup covers, but the rest of the gold hardware is pretty nice. All hardware
and electronics are original and in excellent working condition. It has
the original Pickguard, but it’s missing a screw so I did not put it on.
It comes with a 90′s Gibson case that has a lot of wear and tear. One
latch is broken and the handle is fraying pretty badly, but it gets the
job done.

do not set up my guitars before listing or shipping. This gutar has most
likely been set up and should be ready to go, but it is your responsibility
to get the guitar into the playing condition that you prefer. You may
need to set the action, intonation, replace old strings and do other minor
maintanace. Please do not ask questions about tone, sustain, pickup sound,
etc. I cannot accurately describe the sound of this guitar to you without
you hearing it for yourself. Please make sure that this is the right guitar
for you. I do not accept returns simply becuase you do not like the guitar.
