This is a beautiful 1973 Gibson ES 335-TD that I have owned and played since I purchased it new in 1974.The guitar was made in Kalamazoo according to the sticker. I bought it new from the Melody Shop in Dallas in 1974. I played in a local band in the 70s and 80s. Since then it has been stored in my closet. I noticed a very small (1/2 inch) hairline crack in the neck several years back under the volute. I sent it to Gibson in Nashville for evaluation and repair back in 2006. At that time they made the repair, did a fret job and refinished the neck / headstock. In doing so the serial numbers and Made In USA have faded but still can be read through the refinish when looked at under light. The repair order from Gibson goes with the guitar.
This original walnut guitar is in very good condition. The head and neck are near perfect. Neck is straight. Frets in great shape. There are a few minor body surface scratches and tiny nicks (see pictures) but other than that, it is excellent for its age. The case is in good shape with hardware working (however I can’t find the key). This guitar plays great with very low action. It has that great sound that many people have loved over the years. The serial number for this guitar is 896XXX. Ask questions and request additional pictures if you please.
