Up for bids is a 1955 USA made Gibson ES175 D Archtop electric guitar (ser# 20550) with non-original hardshell case. This classic Gibson show a fair amount of wear and tear including a weather checked finish, dings, chips, arm and belt buckle wear, moderate fret wear and one crack in the side (treble side bottom bout) that looks to be very stable. The switch tip, the end strap button as well as one of the tone control knobs have been replaced. Both pickups work fine, but the neck one is a bit on the thin side and both tone controls are not working, the electronics will need a little TLC to be back to a 100%. The neck is straight and the action is about 1/8â? at the 12 fret, the tuners function fine but the â??Gâ? tuner is slightly bent. The pickguard is slightly warped. Well this one has been played and is no museum piece, but itâ??s still a solid vintage Gibson from Gibsonâ??s golden age and has lots a vintage vibe.
