Up for auction is a Vintage 1971 Gibson Les Paul Custom Black Beauty, Serial number 182954 w/ MADE IN THE USA stamp beneath the seriel number
Guitar is in exceptional condition with only a few minor nicks and dings for a 38 year old guitar. Back of the body has some radical, worn thru buckle rash on the back. Very little lacquer checking.
No breaks or cracks to the headstock or neck to body joint, no routings or funny stuff, just a few changed out parts. The most obvious is the changed pickups: 1) Vintage Dimarzio Super Distortion, 2) Vintage EMG 81. As you can imagine this is a “freight train” metal machine with this pickup combination. You will love the stellar tone if you are into heavy music.
The tuners have been changed out to a vintage set of gold Schaller’s. I don’t think the bridge is original but is exceptional.
The nut is brass and will last forever.
The top hat knobs are authentic Gibson.
Frets are the typical low and flat fretless wonder frets, they show some where but have many miles left before redress is needed. Rolled white fretboard binging has turned yellow.
The white binding body has also turned an stellar yellow color; as indicated in the photos.
The guitar plays excellently with no problems, no fretting out or dead spots, it plays and sounds just as it should be. Comes with the shown vintage Gibson labeled brown case and pink lining. The case is solid.
Check out the photos.
Comes with Brown Gibson OHSC with Pink Lining & Cover.
