Up for auction is an American made Gibson SG that includes the origianl hardshell case and Schaller straplocks. It is used and soes show signs of wear ) minor dings and scratches but it plays like a dream and sounds killer!!! The original Gibson bridge has been upgraded to a Gotoh.
The Gibson SG has been screaming since 1961.
Classic tone, classic looks.That was the year that Gibson changed the Les Paul Custom body style into a sharply pointed double-cutaway. This radical new design featured a thinner, bolder shape and was given the name SG for solid guitar.
The SG.Gibson’s new solidbody, the SG, broke through traditional concepts of solidbody electrics and became an instant classic. The SG body style has remained in production since its first appearance in 1961.
A Rock standard: Lightweight, incredible playability, and the tone that launched a zillion riffs. Takes the best of the ’62 original and adds the longer and sturdier neck joint of the late ’60s models. Hot humbuckers go from rich, sweet lightning to warm, tingling waves of sustain. Silky-fast rosewood fretboard plays like a dream. Upgraded to a GOTOH bridge (gold) and chrome hardware.
