Reason for selling? It was a gift… Only I’m a BASS guitarist, this beautiful axe makes me wish I could play the guitar MUCH better than I do… Which is NOT very good at all, hands too big and I’ve always felt like I “fight” a guitar in order to play it, I get a guitar to make “sounds”. The “sounds” are the type that most individuals DON’T wish to hear ever again. My friend (The Guitarist), played it and I can assure you the tone and sound that HE created would make you melt… Just fantastic!) I can appreciate excellent craftsmanship though and THIS guitar is #1 without equal in that respect. There is a reason it’s named “THE Standard”. NO RESERVE AUCTION!!! This guitar is in excellent condition. Very lightly used with almost no fret wear and no belt buckle rash. There are tiny scratches and swirls on the pickguard that do not show up in the photos. Currently set up with Rotosound light gauge strings.

For your consideration is this 1974
Fender Precision Bass in 100% ALL ORIGINAL excellent condition. This
’74 P Bass is serial number 635612 (“F” plate), with a ’74 green date
stamp on the neck, and original 1974 potentiometers. This bass is ALL
ORIGINAL, including; original black polyurethane finish on the ash
body, original clear polyurethane finish on the maple neck, original
pickups, original pots with date codes 137 7438, original unmolested
electronics, original pickguard, original bridge, original knobs,
original Fender tuners, original nut, original frets, all original
hardware, and non-original Fender hard case, ALL in corresponding
excellent condition.This bass looks amazing and the black/white
and maple combination is very attractive. The original black finish is
completely intact with minimal playing wear, none of which is through
the finish. The neck exhibits little playing wear, and the frets have plenty of life left. All of the original chrome parts look excellent with
no oxidation. It appears that both the bridge and pickup covers are non-original reissues. The pickguard is a crisp white with a small chip on the tip near the input jack. Everything works perfectly.The bass
sounds great, and it is really enjoyable to play. The medium sized
soft C-shape profile neck is very comfortable and the neck is perfectly straight. The truss rod has been tested and works perfectly. The grey bobbin pickups
sound excellent, although the original black pickup padding mounts have almost melted to the backs of the pickups. The P Bass is loud, present, percussive, yet rich and warm. It is a great all around P Bass.The previous owner of the bass purchased it from the bass player in a late-1970′s punk band called The Brats. This does not contribute to the worth of the bass, but it is advantageous to know an instrument’s provenance. Good
